This Thing We Call "Life"

Mimi talked earlier in the week about being MIA because of moods which I too can relate with. I have been MIA for the past two months too, but mainly because of this thing we call "life" has gotten in the way! :) However, if this thing called "life" didn't get in my way once and a while I wouldn't have anything to scrapbook! For the past two months I have been running from one thing to the other which I know all of you can relate to. All good things, so I am not complaining, but it does feel better to get back to my normal at least!

One of my younger sisters was married in May and so even though I have had more than a year to get things done for the big day, the past two months were getting ready for the wedding. (Next week I am planning on sharing with you all the cool things that I was able to made by using products from That Scrappy Girl for the wedding.) Below are just a few photos that I wanted to share with all of you from the big day.

So as you can imagine I have a TON of photos to scrapbook from this wonderful day. However, I am so overwhelmed with where to begin. I need your help! Tell me how you stay on top of your scrapbooking - everyday events and then when you have BIG events happen that can use scrapbooks of their own?

Summer with Maddie

I love the new Jilli Bean Watermelon Gazpacho! It says "SUMMER FUN" to me. Being in Texas, I have the opportunity to see my niece Madison and take pictures of her enjoying the summer. The two together have made a fun page showing all the beautiful JB papers and all the fun Maddie is having.

Recently I shared with you that I have been in a FUNK with my scrapbooking.  So I decided to take an online class.  How many of you own a SILHOUETTE machine?  Well, I bought mine a few years ago (the original version).  I hate to admit, but I hardly used the darn thing.  So, to the internet I went and found a great gal and resource Jennifer Priest.  She teaches online classes at My Creative Classroom.  What a B L A S T!!!!
The classes are great and it renewed my much needed spirit.

I recently took a class called Off the Page using my Silhouette to create non-scrapbooking projects.  Here are just a few things I created.

What Color is your MOOD?

Happy Monday All!  You have probably noticed that I have been MIA for quite some time.  I have to be honest with you friends...My personal life has gotten the best of me.  I haven't been scrapbooking because of my M O O D.  I have been a little down and sad and I haven't wanted to show that in my scrapbook pages.

Luckily for me, I have great friends, goofy kids and enough projects in my head to get me back on track.  Ultimately, what got me out of my FUNK was just to embrace and document what I was feeling. Having S U P E R cute paper from Jillibean Soup doesn't hurt either.  So to embrace my M O O D, I decided to go BLUE...the C O L O R blue that is.

My first brush with scrapbooking was as a child, back when Mrs. Grossman’s stickers and magnetic albums along with ephemera were all the supplies available. I was reintroduced to the hobby in 2001 and became a full-fledged scrapbooking addict in 2005 when I started working at my local scrapbooking store. Today, I’ve expanded into all things paper crafting and often extend my supplies into home décor projects as well. I look to the world around me and the product I have to work with for my inspiration. I am a self-professed tool and technique junkie, and while I do design in a wide variety of styles, I tend to create clean and simple designs with hint of an
 understated elegance.

Pink Paislee Hometown Summer

Hello everyone! It's all about swimming at our house right now. The kids are counting the days down until the town pool opens (4) and my daughter is on swim team..so she always spells of chlorine! This layout is about my son passing his Red Cross swimming lessons a couple years ago. He is very competitive and was worried he wouldn't pass. When he got the card he had passed, he was beaming! I used all kinds of goodies from the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer collection. My favorite thing in the entire collection are the Rubber Charms (I used the boy and the sun on this layout). To add a little more dimension I cut a matching wave from the Neighborhood Pool paper and then used a bunch of pop dots behind it.

I've made some more projects with this collection, so look for them soon!

I made this cute layout with the lovely Jilliebean soups' "spotted owl soup"
Jilliebean is always reliable for cute patternes that go with almost anything.
This sweet photo of my two awesome boys that share a birthday was perfect for this paper line. It features birthday wishes on some pages, but really could be used for many different things such as picnics and summer fun.
