Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday

This is one of my favorite Cosmo Cricket lines. I love the colors in the Girl Friday collection and although I don't consider myself a girly girl, I love the girlyness of it. Here are a couple cards and a super simple layout I made featuring my daughter Emma at her last recital. She is also not a girly girl and here she is wearing pink and makeup! The photo is not the best, but this picture is so Emma...totally cheesy!

I leave in a couple hours for a 3 day crop and have yet to pack...yikes! I will be coming home each night, so I can at least change out a few supplies so I'm not bringing absolutely everything. Although I do always overpack!

Miami Monday!

Happy Monday from South Beach Miami! DH and I had a great time on the cruise. Believe it or not they had a make and take, so I had to try it. My instructor was super cute especially since he didn't have a clue as to what scrapbooking was. He asked me if I knew how to scrapbook and when I said yes he said " oh good".

We arrived this morning In Miami to Gusty winds and 77 degree weather.

Just sat down for some lunch....who would have thought happy hour starts at noon here.

Don't forget to enter the challenge. Winner will be announced on Wednesday when I return...

xoxo,
Mimi

More Snow...Argh!

Here in the Midwest we have even more snow coming.....argh! We received another 3 inches or more today and another 6-12 is predicted by Monday. My kids' Spring Break starts in a week and it does not look like Spring out there! Here are a couple non-snow cards. I am so tired of snow it is very hard for me to make anything wintery right now :-) The first card uses the A Nutmeg Kind of Fall kit (featuring Cosmo Cricket). There are still a few available for purchase. The second card using some of October Afternoon's Road Map collection.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Whatever wednesday

So I just thought I would share this layout with you, This is my furbaby lilly, and she is just the sweetest thing! We have been playing with the idea of getting another dog, but to be honest we are afraid that we could never get another as sweet or as smart, or as good a she is.These papers are from gotmoxxie? and they are super cute!
I also thought I would share with you another layout that I made using a bunch of "found" objects, these paper flowers I made with some dictionary papers, there is a peice of corrugated cardboard which I painted, and glued some beads to.The snowflakes are actually the backing from some felt ribbon stickers.there are also some mirrors, and some white vintage roses that were in my grandmothers custume jewelery box.
I am very impatiently waiting for my scrappygirl package to arrive, so someday next week I will have some new layouts to show off from mimis lines, but in the meantime I hope you like these two.
what is the strangest thing you have ever used on a layout? for me it would be a peice of a mesh onion bag, although I did once scrap my DD's favorite pair of underwear, the pair that I had to wash every single night so that she could wear them again and again!
thanks for looking!
now I am off to stalk the mailman!!

Valentine Challenge!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I'm sure as scrapbookers we all documented our day of Amore. Or maybe this was your day to be pampered and took the day off. However you spent your day, I'm sure it was wonderful.

In honor of Valentine's day, here's a little something I made. My husband liked it so much he said "You're going to blog about aren't you" So I better not disappoint.
The background paper is the dotted swiss from Bazzill. I used the negative from a scalloped heart which is from Technique Tuesday. I happened to have some Making Memories paint which matched the patterened paper quite nicely. The papers and tags are new from Elle's studio. I just love her xoxo line. Stickers are from SRM stickers and the trinket pins are from MayaRoad. The handsome guy is all mine ladies, he's not part of the challenge.

So here's the challenge. Create a layout documenting someone or something you love. It could be your dog, your favorite chair, your spouse, kids or even your favorite scrapbook papers. You decide. Just as long as it comes from the heart. Send us a link or pic of your layout.

What's the prize already, you say? Let's make this really fun and have 3 winners. The winner will be announced Wednesday Feb 24th when I return from my lovely vacation with my DH.

Prize #1: Sweet Papers from Elle's Studio

Prize #2: Sweet Word Tags from Elle's Studio

Prize #3: Heart Trinket Pins from Maya Road.

Fancy Pants - Frosted

I thought I'd share some non-winter cards with you today using the Fancy Pants - Frosted collection. My favorite paper is the Cards paper. I love that you can cut it apart to use on all kinds of projects and since I'm a card junkie, they are perfect! The journaling sprout on the hello card can also be found at That Scrappy Girl. I like to challenge myself to use themed papers for other projects. This also helps your supplies to go further!

Manufacturer Monday!

Sorry for the late post friends. Football is over and I was finally able to watch HOUSE tonight without any interruptions. Oh, it was heavenly!

Today I am sharing a LO using Cosmo Cricket's Lil Man collection. I acutally don't even know where these photos came from. I don't remember taking them, but I was attempting to organize all of my digital photos and came accross these. I just love them. The bear in the photo from when I was a little girl. Some 4#ty.cough, cough. years ago! I am so touched that my little guy loves Bear as much as I did.

Do you have something that was passed down to you or have you passed something on to someone you cherish? Leave a comment today and you could win some goodies from Cosmo Cricket.

TaDa Creative Studios - Signature Collection

Here are a couple cards I made using the Ta Da Designs Signature collection. My favorite things about this collection are the Dots Galore cardstock with the holes already punched and the fact that most of the papers have two different prints on one side and then a solid color on the back. That makes it perfect for both layouts and card making!

change it up!

Did you ever notice how we tend to use the same colors for the bame type of layouts?
Well my callenge to you is to "change it up!"
Try not using "christmas" paper for a christmas LO, and try not using the traditional "snow" colors on a snow LO.
ETC>>ETC>>ETC>>

Here is a little sample , I changed it up to use pink and green on a snow LO and look how cute!

Challenge Yourself!

Happy Monday and Happy February! This month my gal pal Jamie and I have entered a LOAD challenge! We are creating a Layout a Day for the entire month of February. Jamie and I have been friends for over 4 years now, but this is by far the craziest thing we have ever done. Sometimes for whatever reason we get in a rut or just stop scrapbooking all together.

This last month I talked to so many people who want to get started scrapbooking and it just renewed my passion of why I scrapbook. If you find yourself in a rut, I encourage you to remember why you started scrapbooking. Inspiration can be found everywhere around you. Read a magazine, scraplift, enter a contest...whatever it takes. This month not only are we participating in the challenge I am going to try out for my first design team (besides my own). This year, my resolution is to push my passion and talents further than I have in the past.

Here's a layout I created using some Jillibean Soup...Keep Scrapbooking!
