I will confess. I am not a super complicated techniquey type of scrapper. I'm not saying I don't like various fancy techniques, I've just never taken the time to learn many. My "numbers" brain generally likes my projects orderly and clean lined - but my goal is to start challenging myself to try new things, get a little shabby, get a little messy, maybe even make things a little crooked.
Since I have the floor today, I thought I'd go ahead and share a couple other projects I made for October. The Tall Kid layout is also from the Alphabet Soup kit and Friendly Pumpkins is from the October Boo To You kit. With both kits I still have a ton of product left even after making quite a few projects.

One of my favorite techniques (you will see this on a lot of my projects) is fussy cutting. When picking out paper at the store, I always seem to grab those papers or lines that have prints/pictures on them, which are perfect for cutting out. I'll often add a pop dot or two behind to give some dimension or add a little bling or glitter for some sparkle. My favorite scissors when fussy cutting are the Cutterbees (yellow handle with black blades - adhesive won't stick to them).
Here is a teacher card and gift bag I made using the October Alphabet Soup kit. As you can see I cut out the little school houses and added pop dots behind them.

And here is another peek at the November main kit featuring Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg. This was a quick and easy card I made after finishing up a layout. Don't forget to sign up for the Boo To You Kit giveaway here. The drawing is on Friday.

hugs,
sarah.
your style is much like mine. I love all the techniquey looks and I have tried to replicate them ....I really have to push myself through when I try these things and then it takes the fun out of scrapping. I did try Glimmer mist on a tag and flower however and that was simple enough and a pretty addition. *grin*
